New range of biodegradable polymers by Sipol®
November 2018
Technipol® PBAT, PBS and PolyButyleneSebacate find applications as engineering plastics and hot-melt adhesives
The new range of biopolymers Technipol® 061/E (PBAT, PolyButylene Adipate Terephthalate), Technipol® 70 (PolyButylene Sebacate) and Technipol® IP720 (PBS, Polybutylene Succinate) respond to the increasing demand of biodegradable and compostable plastics both by European regulations and by users.
They find applications in the production of compostable compounds for injection moulding and extrusion, as carrier polymers for biodegradable masterbatches, as hot-melt adhesives components for the footwear and other industries, in 3D printing, and potentially in any application where biodegradability is required.
Technipol® 70 contains 60% of raw materials coming from renewable resources, and the content can be increased to 100% by using bio-1,4-butanediol (bioBDO).
